Making the Best Use of Time

May 18th, 2009  •  By Swami Sivananda Saraswati

snake eating frogThe serpent has the frog in its mouth. Only the head of the frog is projecting outside. It will be devoured within a few minutes. But the poor frog projects its tongue outside to catch one or two insects. Even so, O ignorant man, you are already in the mouth of Kala or time. You will be nowhere in a few minutes. Yet you think of the sensual objects again and again. You have become a slave of Moha or delusion, and attachment.

Time is more precious than money. Time is more precious than the most valuable thing in the world. It is the richest treasure. Time is the soul of the world. Time is life. Utilise time profitably in spiritual pursuits. Waste not even a second.
